What To Expect
Many people relate private investigators to the characters they see on television. While shows like The Rockford Files, Magnum PI and Monk are certainly entertaining, they do not accurately portray the work of real investigators.
We will only take your case if we legitimately believe we can help you. Occasionally, individuals who contact us don't really require the services of a private investigator, but rather the services of an attorney, bail bondsman, counselor or law enforcement officer. In those cases we will promptly refer you to the proper professional.
If we do take your case, the first step will be to set up an initial consultation. During the initial consultation, we will ask you for specific details, which may include very personal questions. The more detail you provide, the greater the chances of a successful resolution to your issue. Questions will vary depending on the type of case, but are typically things like the last time you saw the person, what they were wearing, the type of car they drive, the bar they hang out at, their place of employment, etc. Years of experience have taught us what information is important, and all questions we ask are relevant to the investigation, even if you might think they are not. The first step in obtaining results you desire starts with providing as much information as possible.
The initial cost of the investigation is up to you. You decide how much you want to spend. The length of the investigation could be a couple weekends to a couple months depending on your budget.
Once the investigation is under way, we are out in “the field” working for you. Given today’s technology, clients can view most of their evidence from the privacy of their own home or office. We generally like to meet with our clients and provide your evidence in person. Be prepared to see the actual footage we show you; it is frequently not pleasant. Your footage will be time date stamped, which means the video evidence has the time and date code embedded in the footage. This establishes a timeline of when the activity took place and can be considered “best evidence” under most court rules.
